You are my sonshine

No, it is not a typo in the title.

There is no better way to describe M that the very fact that he is my "sonshine".

Every morning, he gives me a huge smile and that kickstarts my day.

My prayer is that I will be the one he wakes up to and fall asleep with.

My son prayed for me (Part 2)

"Dear Jesus, I love Mummy. Pls take the pain pain away from Mummy and Mummy get well already. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen"

Major improvement from the previous prayer. I am so proud of him. In fact he has been praying for me every night even though I told him that by his prayers, I have recovered.

Christmas 2008

We have sort of established a tradition of celebrating Xmas at home with J & M’s cousins, C, D and E. The same goes for this year. As usual, we ordered a variety of food which includes sushi platter, satay, stingray, chilli crab, fried beehoon, otak-otak, sotong balls and sausages. It turns out to be quite a sumptuous feast as it is all our favorite food.

J has been pestering me for the past few days if he could open his presents and when the time arrives, he was very excited and ripped away the paper wrappers while M look on curiously. J got a toddler digital camera and M received a personalized Xmas story CD album from us.

As we celebrate M’s 1st Xmas, I can’t help but recall J’s 1st Xmas. Once again, my heart is filled with gratitude and Xmas is definitely the best time to give thanks to God for the blessings he has given me and in my case, he has given me 2x the blessings. You can’t never have enough of the good stuff.

My son prayed for me

I am suffering from very bad backache. Doc suspect that it might be slip disc.

As I lay down in bed at night telling J abt the pain, I asked if he would like to pray for me. He said "Yes".

This is his prayer:
"Dear Jesus. I love Mummy....mmm....err....arrhhh.....Mummy how to say huh?"

I had a good laugh and ask him to repeat word by word after me.

I am slightly better now and I believe God must have heard his prayer.

Lost without my GPS

K left for the airport last night.

Though we had some major fights during the past few days and I was very upset with him, I can't help but felt a sense of loss and sadness after I turn my back to head home after the taxi left; taking K to the airport.

K has not been travelling for almost a year. In this year, he has been a great help to me with the children. He takes J out for breakfast every weekend thus allowing me to sleep in or spend some time with M. He changes J into his PJ at night. He does the night feeding for M. He takes over from me when J throws his tantrum.

I don't know if he understands why I always seem to have 101 things to do during weekends but when he is around, every family outings seems to pass by so quickly. When he is not eg when he has to work weekends, I wander about and try to fill up the void with aimless activities and time seems to pass by so slowly.

I guess over time, we have merge to become one entity as describe in the Bible.

At the beginning of creation
God created humanity male and female.
For this reason
a man will leave his father and mother
and be united to his wife,
and the two will become one flesh.
So they are no longer two, but one.
Therefore what God has joined together,
let no one separate.

Happy Birthday to Dad

Had a simple dinner celebration at Pu Tien Restaurant in Marina Square. The review in HungryGoWhere.com seem favourable so we decided to give it a try as it has been a long time since I tasted Xin Hua cuisine.

We had the set meal for 6 paxs and since we only have 5 adults, there was a lot to eat.
3 Combination Platter (We can choose from 3 starters)
- Ice Bitter Gourd: Paper thin slice of chilled bitter gourd with honey dip. I love the crunchiness of the vege and the bitter and sweet combination
- Braised Salted Duck: Salty enough to earn the name. The smell of the duck is quite strong but the meat is tender.
- The 3rd starter is not on the menu but was recommended by the waitress. Dunno what it is but it is yummy.
Claypot Fish Soup - The soup is flavourful but there are a lot of bones in the fish so it is a bit tedious to filter thru the meat and the bones.
Bake Lobster with Cheese and Supreme Stock - Large portion of lobster and is very fresh. However, the taste of cheese is not strong. Tasted more like lobster in white sauce. Quite disappointing as they did not make full use of the freshness of the lobster.
Stir-fired yam - I don't like yam so this dish must be good enough to convert a non-believer. It is well-fried and drizzle with a thin coat of sweet sauce. Best eaten hot.
Fried Noodle (Mee Sua) - A birthday celebration is not complete without a dish of mee sua which symbolises longetivity. The mee suan has thoroughly absorb the stock. It has a lot of ingredient like prawns, vege and seaweed. I had 2 helpings of this since J didnt want it.
Bamboo Pith and Mushroom in Supreme Stock - The bamboo pith is crunchy and again it is well flavoured by the stock.
By now, we are filled to the brim but we still have to do the "cut the birthday cake" ceremony which excited J the most as he did not eat his dinner as all due to him snacking the whole day. When the waitress took out the cake, he wanted to go sit beside his grandpa so that he can get to blow out the candles. Since we have no space in our tummy for the cakes, we just cut a slice for J who wanted to eat that.
I think my parents are really happy because some how, our family felt complete. It is every parent's wish to have their daughter marry a good man and I did and now have 2 kids on my own. I think that is the best birthday present I can give to my dad.

Getting older by the day

M is big enough to balance himself on the tricycle. I can't believe 8 months has passed since he arrived in this world.

Every time I look at M, I feel a gush of happiness. Maybe he is the youngest, or it is the baby fats or his curly hair or his lotus root arm? Whatever it is, he makes me happy.

Play time

It is nice to see the 2 bros playing together.
